Ruth Kingston Allen - age: 80
(December 24, 1929 to December 23, 2010 ) Resident of Malta, Texas Visitation Information: 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 26, 2010 Malta Baptist Church Obituary: Mrs. Ruth Kingston Allen, 80, a life-long resident of Malta, Texas, died Thursday, December 23, 2010, in a Texarkana hospital. Mrs. Allen was born to Charlie and Leita Lyles Kingston on December 24, 1929 in Naples, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Abe Reed Allen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Ed Higgins and Susan and Kim Waldrum of New Boston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kathy Allen of Hooks, Texas and Ronnie and Donna Allen of Malta; one sister, Bobbie Nichols of Stephenville, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Verble Kingston of New Boston; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of special family and friends. She was a homemaker and faithful member of Malta Baptist Church where she was organist for 36 years, Benevolence Chairman for 25 years, member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class and Women on Mission. She also served as treasurer of the Malta Cemetery Association. She had a servant's heart and was held in high regard by all who knew her. Music was her comfort. She taught herself to play piano and organ then used that talent to serve others. She worked hard and played hard. Ruth loved people. There was much social activity in the house, from music get-togethers to volleyball games with community friends. Her unique sense of humor and her honesty will be sorely missed. Family will recieve friends 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Malta Baptist Church. The service will follow at 3:00 P.M. with Bro. Todd Reed officiating. I was out of town and did not know that Ruth had passed away. As everyone else, I loved her very much. I am praying for the family and other friends who will greatly miss her. We can all find comfort in knowing that she has a special place in Heaven. God bless you all,
