(January 27, 1923 to March 23, 2011 ) Resident of De Kalb, Texas Visitation Information: 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2011 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Mrs. Irene Cooper of De Kalb, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. Irene was born January 27, 1923 in New Boston, Texas to John and Safronie Myrtle Brown Steward. On June 30, 1951, she married Clecie Lynn Cooper in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where she was a Children's Sunday School Teacher and involved with Vacation Bible School. She was preceded in death by a brother, Archie "Buck" Steward and two sisters, Margaret Mitchell and Marie Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, Clecie Cooper of De Kalb, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Rose Cooper of Hooks, Texas and David and Susan Cooper of De Kalb, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Randy Glass of Clarksville, Texas, Donna and Robert Morris of Hooks, Texas and Venette and Jerry Landreth of De Kalb, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Cooper of Sterling Park, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Spring Hill Baptist Church with Danny Cooper and Robby Bates and Rev. Terry Carson officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
