Monday, April 4, 2011 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Mrs. Helen Marie Caldwell of De Kalb, Texas passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at a New Boston nursing home. She was 75. Helen was born January 30, 1936 in Lydia, Texas to Deroy and Dessie Sturdivant. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, De Kalb, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Caldwell. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy and Rhonda Caldwell of Simms, Texas and David Caldwell of New Boston, Texas; her stepmother, Doris Sturdivant of De Kalb, Texas; five brothers, Roy Sturdivant of Texarkana, Texas, Bobby Sturdivant of Texarkana, Texas, Terry Sturdivant of De Kalb, Texas, Danny Sturdivant of Avery, Texas and Johnny Sturdivant of Avery, Texas; seven sisters, Wilma Fowler of De Kalb, Texas, Tammy Mitchell of De Kalb, Texas, Betty Balew of Longview, Texas, Sharon Lawing of Longview, Texas, Cindy Woods of Avery, Texas, Carolyn Dietrick of Boswell, Oklahoma and Ruby Blout of Gladewater, Texas; four grandchildren, Kindall Smith of Maud, Texas, Kensie Caldwell of Simms, Texas, and Breanna and Noel Caldwell of New Boston, Texas; two great grandchildren, Kylie and Masey Hammonds and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Bates Family Funeral Home with Terry Simpson and Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Lydia Cemetery.
