Monday, April 11, 2011 East Funeral Home in Texarkana, Texas Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Cook, 89, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at her residence. She was born August 7, 1921, in Texarkana, Arkansas to John Henry Moore and Loraine Schepp Moore. She married Randolph Doyne Cook on August 17, 1942, in Boston, Texas, who preceded her in death on November 9, 1978. She was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and retired sales clerk from Sears Roebuck Co. and J.C. Penney Stores. She was also a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas. Surviving family members include a son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Kaye Cook; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and James Scogin and Sandra and Alex Tipton of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Jack Moore of Tyler, Texas; two grandsons, Drew and Matt Scogin of Texarkana, Texas; two granddaughters, Lee Cooper and husband, Eddie of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Shelli Blackburn and husband, Mark of Austin, Texas; seven great grandchildren, Claire, Savannah, Trey and Leo Cooper of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Laura Lee, Lindsy and Lily Blackburn of Austin, Texas. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at East Memorial Gardens, Hwy 67, Texarkana, Arkansas, with Rev. Richard Posey officiating.
