Obituary:
Neta Goodwin, age 83, of De Kalb, Texas passed away, Friday, June 17, in a Texarkana, Texas Hospital.

Mrs. Goodwin was born January 17, 1928 in Bowie County, Texas, where she lived most of her life. She was a Homemaker and was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church in De Kalb, where she had taught Sunday School for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Onnie L. Goodwin of De Kalb, Texas;
One Son and Daughter-In-Law: David and D’Ann Goodwin of De Kalb, Texas; One Daughter and Son-in-Law: Barbara and Kyle Gardner of De Kalb, Texas; a Sister: Helen I. Norton of De Kalb, Texas; Five Grandchildren: Kristopher Goodwin, Misty Barrett, Cassandra “Kaycee” Miller, Amanda Gardner Hawkins and Dillon Gardner; Three Step Grandchildren: Marc Beettner, Becky Hilbun and Billie Beettner; Ten Great Grandchildren; Four Step Great Grandchildren; and One Great-Great Grandchild.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in the Bates Family Funeral Home Chapel, De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Roy Ford and Rev. James O. Hilton officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home, DeKalb, Texas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Memorials may be made to the Liberty Hill Cemetery Association in De Kalb, Texas

Onnie, Barbara Ann, and David,and Helen. I was so sorry to hear of Neta's passing away. She was a good woman and always had a smile and kind word for everyone!!! I truly know that she will be missed.I wish I could be there for the funeral but I am not able.My prayers will be with all of you!!!!!Diann Scott
