Robert E. Clack - age: 89
(December 03, 1922 to December 09, 2011 ) Resident of Geneseo, Illinois Visitation Information: 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Robert E. Clack, 89, of Geneseo, Illinois, formerly of Simms, Texas, passed away Friday, December 09, 2011 at Trinity Rock Island. Robert was born on December 3, 1922 in Havre, MT, the son of Weaver & Alice Clack. He was united in marriage to Tura G. Meadows on October 26, 1946 in Siloam, TX. Robert attended Oklahoma A & M college. He served in the U.S. Air Force Cadets and Army during World War II. Robert was a photographer for the Texarkana Gazette, and the Super Sonic Wind Tunnel for the Army. He was employed by U.S. civil Service at Red River Army Depot and transferred to Rock Island Arsenal in 1965. Robert retired from civil service in 1972 and then was employed by Caterpillar from 1975 – 1985. He was a member of Geneseo Evangelical Free Church where he previously served as a deacon, and member of the Geneseo Kiwanis Club where he served as past president and club treasurer. He was also past president of Geneseo Community Chest. Robert enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Tura, photography, and reading. Survivors include five children: sons and daughters-in-law; Charles & Leah Clack, Cooksville, TN; Dr. Robert M. & Ymelda Clack, Simms, TX; John & Pam Clack, Simms, TX; daughters and son-in-law Charlotte & Dr. Carl Brinkmann, Geneseo; Tura Kaye Clack, Gainesville, FL; 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Tura, and one grandchild Michael Brinkmann. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Bates Family Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Jackson and Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Bates Family Funeral Home.
