Saturday, February 18, 2012 Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church Obituary: Hazel "Susie" Davis passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, at her home in De Kalb, Texas. She was 95. Susie was born January 17, 1917, in Avery, Texas, to Ben and Cora Morgan Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas. She loved sewing and quilting, gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Glenn Davis, on July 22, 1978; and her husband, Olney A. Davis on February 4, 1983. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bennie and Laura Davis of San Antonio, Texas, Jerry and Carol Davis of New Boston, Texas, and Joe M. and Gail Davis of De Kalb, Texas; a daughter, Suzanne Davis of De Kalb, Texas; a sister, Ruby Caddenhead of Arizona; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 3:30 P.M. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas, with Rev. Don McPherson officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas. Visitation will be held 2:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Sorry to hear about Susie's passing. Take solice in the fact that while she is gone from our touch, she will be forever in our memories. I regret not being in a situation where I could have known her better. I know her passing will be difficult for my mother.
