Obituary:
Millie Sue Sands, of De Kalb, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012, at a Texarkana, hospital. She was 74.

Millie was born September 19, 1937, in De Kalb, Texas, to Verlon and Linnie Miller Garton. On June 16, 1990, she was married to Bennie Franklin Sands, in De Kalb, Texas. She was a Management Analyst at Red River Army Depot.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Garton.

She is survived by her husband, Bennie Sands of De Kalb, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Marietta Raney of De Kalb, Texas; a stepdaughter and her husband, Linda and Mark Simpson of Hugo, Oklahoma; special friends, Anita Raney of New Boston, Texas and Mike and Regina Welch of New Boston, Texas; three grandchildren, Sarah, Abigail and Jared Simpson.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Bates Family Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to James Bowie Class of 1955 Scholarship Fund, c/o P.O. Box 9, Simms, TX 75574.

Millie's cousin, Samuel, is very saddened to hear of her passing. Her will miss her and will always remember the fun times they shared. Millie and her husband came into our diner every friday. She loved to eat our fish. We become pretty good friends with her. We really enjoyed visting with her every week. We will miss her very much!! We will keep all the family in our prayers. With all our love the crew from Sues Diner.
