Wednesday, July 7, 2010 Bates Family Funeral Home Obituary: Mr. Elmer Dee Flanery of De Kalb, Texas passed away Tueday, July 6, 2010 at Sunny Acres Nursing Center. He was 87. Elmer Dee was born September 16, 1922 in Wards Creek, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retired supervisor for Red River Army Depot and a member of the American Legion, John H. Moore Post, De Kalb, Texas. He was of the Christian faith. He is survived by his wife Ethel Boyd Flanery of De Kalb, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Kirk Foster of De Kalb, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Vynetta Flanery of De Kalb, Texas; a sister, Mildred Rankin of De Kalb, Texas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home with Gerold Rankin and R.E. Mosely officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery.
